Discover a new theme each week, which is tied to the plants and animals that live at the Arboretum.  We’ll roam the Bartlett’s grounds from swamp to forest to greenhouse.  Along the way we will create art, complete hands-on investigations indoors and out, have lots of time to play, and enjoy nature together!

Complete nature immersion experiences for youth from June 24 - August 16.

Camp hours: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Preregistration required.
Snack provided, however children are responsible for their own nut-free lunch. Children should dress appropriately for weather.

Animal Tracking

June 24 - June 28, Entering Kindergarten to Entering 5th Grade

Mammals, Reptiles, Birds, Insects! The forest is alive with critters if you know where to look. Spend the week discovering how a variety of animals move, where they live, what they eat, and how to find them! $425/week

Potions & Concoctions

July 1, 2, 3 (3-day week), Entering Kindergarten to Entering 5th Grade

Use plants to make secret potions! Spend time in the Bartlett’s beautiful herb garden – and use the plants we harvest in creative ways. Delight in mixing and making your own concoctions! $255/week

  • Create herb infused olive oil

Raiders of the Lost Artifact

July 8 - July 12, Entering Kindergarten to Entering 5th Grade

Calling all treasure hunters! Dig up fossils, artifacts, and lost treasures in a camp experience like no other where you become Indiana Jones and hunt for lost treasures! $425/week

  • Search for fossils and artifacts in our archeology site

  • Go on excited treasure hunts

  • Create your own fossil

  • Create your own dinosaur egg

  • Dissect an owl pellet


Craft & Build

July 15 - July 19, Entering Kindergarten to Entering 5th Grade

Discover your creative side while experiencing the wonders of nature! We will build lots of exciting projects. Let’s get crafty and build this summer! $425/week

  • Build and decorate a popsicle stick cabin

  • Take the egg drop challenge

  • Build and decorate bird house and bird feeders

  • Build a recycled city

  • Tie-dye bandanas


Bug Out

July 22 - July 26, Entering Kindergarten to Entering 5th Grade

The great bug hunt! Hike the trails looking for different creatures. Make bug jars to keep specimens. Investigate bugs all around us. $425/week

Water World

July 29 - August 2, Entering Kindergarten to Entering 5th Grade

Let’s cool off this summer with water and nature! Search for animals and insects in the pond. Meet aquatic animals. Make a splash at the arboretum! $425/week

Discover Garden to Table

August 5 - August 9, Entering Kindergarten to Entering 5th Grade

“Dig in” to food crops! Harvest from our vegetable garden, create garden-inspired crafts, and prepare and eat a variety of snacks. $425/week

  • Cook with veggies grown right at the Arboretum

  • Create your own herb garden

  • Make seed balls

  • Decorate a flowerpot to take home

  • Visit a farm for fruit picking


Wilderness Survival

August 12 - August 16, Entering 2nd Grade to Entering 5th Grade

Test your survival skills and learn new ones on an adventure into the wilderness. We will spend the week becoming survival experts! $425/week

  • Learn all about wilderness survival gear

  • Learn how to make a water filter out of natural materials

  • Build a shelter

  • Cook smores over a campfire

  • Become a survival expert on a hiking field trip
