Going to need a little more information than color to provide a plant identification but it is possible.
See grasses include Northern Sea Oats (chasmanthium latifolium), several species of Cordgrass (Spartina sp.) There are several types of Sunflower (Helianthus) and seaside goldenrod (Solidago sempervirens) that would thrive there and also Bayberry (Morella pennsylvanica and Myrica gale) are great shrubs. This is a great resource to use for identifying trees shrubs and herbaceous plants to use along Connecticut’s coast and they are all native which is a huge benefit to local birds and butterflies.
