April Vacation Camp
|April Vacation Camp 2014
Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens April Vacation Camp is a full day camp program offered to inquisitive children between the ages of 5 and 11 years.
You may sign up for individual day sessions or the whole week to give your children a vacation close to home that they will remember for years to come.
Trained educators will give campers the opportunity to connect with nature through hands on activities, art projects and inquiry based science experiences.
Campers are encouraged and supported to learn in their own way all while having a lot of fun in a unique and dynamic setting.
Bartlett Arboretum will provide a healthy snack, however children are responsible for their own peanut-free lunch.
Children should dress appropriately for the weather, as we will be spending time outside each day.
Monday April 14th: Rainforest Ecology
Rainforests are some of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. Campers will learn the difference between tropical and temperate rainforests, meet a variety of plants that call these habitats home and gain knowledge on how to protect these fragile ecosystems for generations to come.
Tuesday April 15th: Habitats from around the World
Take a trip around the world in six hours! Campers will get an introduction to a variety of ecosystems from around the world by exploring many of the plants in Bartlett’s collection. Working with Bartlett educators, campers will be encouraged to make their own discoveries and connections about why certain plants live in certain habitats.
Wednesday April 16th: Flowering Plants
The birds are singing, the weather is getting warmer, and, of course, the flowers are starting to bloom! Campers will learn about the important job flowers do for plants each spring and summer through hands-on activities and exploration in our gardens. We will visit our honeybee hives to see if these busy pollinators have woken up with the warmer weather and we’ll stop by our vegetable garden and peruse the greenhouse for flowering plants.
$65/day or $195/week (Members), $75/day or $225/week (Non-Members)
Camp hours are 9:00am-3:00pm each day.
