Cut That Out - Pruning

Tuesday, March 26th, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Phyllis Padro will discuss late winter/early spring pruning for rejuvenation, beauty, shape or size of summer and late blooming shrubs such as roses and hydrangeas. In addition, she will speak about shrubs and small trees that are pruned later in the year after early bloom. She will demonstrate her favorite tools and discuss how to clean and sharpen them. All are welcome to bring their own pruners and a metal file or stone. Weather permitting, the class will take a short walk outside to examine where pruning should be done.

Instructor- Phyllis Padro:
Phyllis Padro is a certified Advanced Master Gardener, a former President of the Rowayton Gardeners Club and currently their Civic Beautification and Horticulture Chair. She has received NGC Regional and CT Garden Club awards for her publication of horticulture tips, “Trowels Up!”
