Composting Class



SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23rd
10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.




Learn the requirements for proper residential composting – the controlled microbial aerobic decomposition of organic matter. Topics covered are the general principles of composting, i.e., the six main requirements of composting; the advantages and disadvantages of a variety of compost piles, cages and bins; and general troubleshooting.

BIO OF SPEAKER- Greg Moonie is a UConn certified Master Composter and Advanced Master Gardener and has lectured on composting for the Adult Education programs at the Stamford, Greenwich and Darien High Schools and at the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens for the past seven years. Recently, Greg was hired to be the State Coordinator for the UConn Master Composter program and has lectured in each year that the program has been offered.

$10 for Members & $15 for Non-Members. Class will be held in the Silver Educational Center.
