Director of Education
Mike Belletzkie is a dedicated educator with a passion for horticulture, ecology, and environmental stewardship. Mike brings more than 10 years of experience working in a variety of traditional and informal educational and research settings. While earning degrees in both biology and education, Mike congruently began his career in education and biological research. As an education specialist at Housatonic Community College, Mike taught non-credit classes, provided math and science tutoring, coordinated high-school to college transition programming, and provided academic advising. While finishing his biology degree at Southern Connecticut State University, Mike performed award winning research for the University. Upon graduating, Mike opened a microbiology laboratory for an environmental inspection company in Stamford. He worked as an environmental educator at The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, and most recently worked as the education director for a local non-profit youth center. In his free time, Mike enjoys hiking, woodworking, snowboarding, and spending time in his vegetable gardens, where he grows more than 30 varieties of edible plants.
