Garden and Woodland Stewards

  • Weeding, deadheading, and mulching

  • Greenhouse: maintain collections, identify plants, pest management, plant propagation

  • Greenhouse Crew Coordinator

  • Invasive plant control and removal

  • Trail inspection, clearing and maintenance

Education and Training

  • Train new volunteers for general or specific jobs

  • Teach a class or info session for adults

  • Become a docent: Guide visitors touring Bartlett gardens or collections

  • Assist with children’s education programs - seasonal

Meeting and Greeting

  • Special events: Greeter, Registration, Facilitator

  • Special events support and committee member

  • Special events: Organize, initiate, set up and/or tear down

  • Reception: greet and direct visitors; work on special projects

Leadership

  • Lead and supervise a work party on the grounds

  • Coordinate an event such as Garden Tour, Gala or other event

Research and Writing

  • Research and write horticultural description of specific plants found in the Arboretum’s gardens. Can work remotely and on your own schedule.

  • Research and develop material and signage for educational purposes at the native plant and other gardens.
