The Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens is proud to offer Arboriculture 2026, a comprehensive course designed for those interested in pursuing a career in tree care and maintenance. This program provides the foundation needed to prepare for the Connecticut Arborist Exam and to build essential skills for professional practice.
Classes are taught by leading professionals in the field and cover a wide range of topics, including:
Tree biology and identification
Safety practices and equipment use
Pruning, cabling, and bracing
Insect and disease management
Planting, transplanting, and soil science
Integrated pest management
Participants will benefit from a mix of classroom instruction and practical field demonstrations on the Arboretum’s 93-acre living campus, home to hundreds of tree species and Champion Trees.
Schedule: Classes begin in January 2026 and continue through the spring.
