Join expert birder, David Warne, for a morning walk around the Bartlett grounds to look for rare bird sightings and other signs of bird activity.
July marks the transition from the breeding season to the start of the southbound migration at the Bartlett Arboretum. While many resident birds are still tending fledglings, early migrants such as shorebirds and some songbirds begin moving through the region. Look for Indigo Buntings, Eastern Bluebirds, Baltimore Orioles, and Cedar Waxwings, along with young birds learning to forage on their own. With lush summer habitats and a mix of breeding and migrating species, July offers rewarding opportunities to observe a diverse array of birdlife.
Please wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate outdoor clothing. Binoculars are welcome.
